Little Red Book

I'm thinking about blogging more. A friend in the Fediverse is doing it and another fiber artist asked for others who are also writing in this long-is form.

Lately, I've been exploring Little Red Book, the Chinese version of TikTok, in part because so many people I follow went there. I am not an influencer or even a content creator outside trying fun filters. I probably won't be posting anything at Xiǎo hóng shū (小红书) because I'm not interested in becoming either a content creator or influencer. I used TikTok to be entertained and to learn things.

Some things I learned on TikTok include how to properly put on compression socks, without a lot effort, things about my ADHD that I didn't know, and starting in 2020, I began following epidemiologists there.

I say all of this because what I've discovered at Xiǎo hóng shū is that their knitting content very far surpasses what content I've seen on English speaking social media. I am blown away by what I've seen so far.

There are no ads on Little Red Book, and they absolutely do not tolerate MAGA politics. It's a really peaceful place.

I'm looking forward to learning some Mandarin.
